June 6, 2024 — On this day, 80 years ago, the world witnessed an extraordinary event – the D-Day Invasion. It involved 7,000 ships, almost 133,000 troops, and the combined efforts of the US, Great Britian, Canada, and other NATO Nations. Nearly 160,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy facing immense challenges and thousands of causalities. Their unwavering courage and determination changed the course of history.

As we reflect on this historic moment, let us also recognize all the veterans who have served our country. Their stories remind us of the sacrifices made for freedom.

In Nelson County, Kentucky, our community is coming together to create a special place — the Veterans Park. This park will create a legacy that will honor all Veterans from Nelson County.

Join us in this historic act of gratitude by becoming a part of the Bardstown Nelson County Veterans Park.
